"The total value of retail and block trading increased during the first eleven months of the current Iranian year (21st March 2011 – 19th February 2012), and exceeded IRR 155 trillion (USD 12.7 billion). This shows 39% growth compared to the amount in the same period of last year", stated Mr. Hamid Rouhbakhsh, Head of Market Statistics and Information Department, Tehran Stock Exchange.
"TSE's total index gained 2,788 points in the last month, comparing to the same month of the last year, with a 12.6% growth. The trading value has exceeded IRR 14 trillion (USD 1.18 billion) during the past month, with a 12% growth in contrast with the same month of the last year", Rouhbakhsh added.
"The market capitalization was IRR 1,056 trillion (USD 86.1 billion) on 19th February 2012, which is more than 17% higher in IRR currency than the same date value in 2011", he concluded.
