Part of the triple accredited Henley Business School, the ICMA Centre is the first active collaboration between the securities industry and a university finance department. Offering a range of undergraduate, postgraduate and executive education, the ICMA Centre's aim is to deliver the highest standard in financial markets focused teaching, learning and research. The Centre's faculty include many academics of high renown as well as ex-practitioners.

The ICMA Centre is known for its student-focused ethos, which contributes to both the high achievement rates and the close relationships the Centre maintains with its alumni after graduation. With over 3000 alumni around the globe, the networking opportunities for students and alumni are enormous.

Our location in the Thames Valley is ideal for those coming from the City (just 25 minutes by train) or either of the major London airports. The 320-acre Whiteknights campus in Reading provides a wonderful environment conducive for learning. Students will find all the halls of residence are either on campus or within a five-minute walk.

A unique combination of theory and practice

The practical application of finance theory is one of the ICMA Centre's key advantages and is why students choose the Centre. This integration of theory with practice is achieved through the use of the Centre's state-of-the-art dealing rooms. All equipped by Thomson Reuters, the terminals run the latest industry simulation software as well as the Centre's own simulation software platform ICTrader.

Ranked second for employability

The Centre was recently ranked second for employability in The Times Good University Guide. This reflects the emphasis the Centre places on producing graduates with skills and knowledge of real value to institutions in the financial markets. In addition to the practical application of finance theory the Centre also has its own dedicated Career Development Unit, which is available to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. The Unit, staffed by industry professionals, not only provide advice on writing CVs, producing effective applications and helping students to find internships but also arrange networking events with alumni and financial institutions.

Links with industry

The Centre maintains excellent industry links and is highly regarded by leading institutions in the financial markets. It holds Centre of Excellence status from the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment (CISI) and is one of only thirteen CFA Program Partners in the UK.

Professional Qualifications

The majority of the ICMA Centre's MSc degrees are subject to accreditation by key industry bodies (CISI, ICMA, PRMIA, CFA, CIFP, ICS). These provide graduates with one or more valued industry licences as well as their degree.
